Creating and launching a new website is the product of thousands of hours of collaboration, dedication, and hard work. Wasp’s new website was no exception. When creating our new website—which launched last week—we faced the challenge of creating a customer friendly website that helps visitors understand our small business productivity solutions.
To help our customers understand what we offer, we realized the website’s focus had to be the delivery of clear, easy-to-understand product information. Specifically, how an inventory, asset, or timekeeping solution works with barcodes to make businesses more efficient and more productive.
Whether you’re launching a new website for your small business or just navigating ours, the five areas we targeted made our website more customer-focused – providing a positive and successful online experience.
1. Overall Design
In its entirety, the new Wasp website provides a clean, user-friendly, and easy-to-navigate layout with strong brand reinforcement. The newly simplified menus of our homepage decrease customer confusion and allow for quick navigation to our products, software solutions, and additional customer and partner resources. 85% of the website’s content was rewritten to provide clearer, more concise information. For example, solution pages were consolidated and the possible options were simplified to ease understanding.
Product pages include new pop-up boxes displaying hardware images, screenshots, and feature charts. This new layout, the updated content, and the simplified menus ensure our customers can knowledgably select the resources - whether that’s software, scanner or printer - to assist them with their inventory and asset management needs.
2. Videos
According to a fourth quarter, 2012 study from Invodo, “57 percent of consumers are more confident to make a
purchase online after watching a product video.” To better educate our customers, product pages on the new website now include videos to help our customers better understand the specific products in which they are interested. A commercial video, with a laymen’s explanation of the solution, is included on every landing page - whether it be
inventory management, asset tracking, or barcode solutions.
3. Training & Support
71% of consumers have ended their relationship with a company due to
poor customer service. With that in mind, we emphasize helping customers gain valuable insights about applying Wasp software solutions quickly and efficiently. To support that effort, we expanded the training section on the newly renovated site. The section quickly outlines several ways our customers can receive help based on their needs, such as, free, live or on-demand Getting Started Training sessions, web-based training for purchase, and so-site training where one of our certified Wasp specialists travels to the customer to provide hands-on training.
4. Responsive Design
48% of users say that if they arrive on a business site that
isn’t working well on a mobile device, they take it as an indication of the business simply not caring. Responsive design refers to a web design approach aimed at creating sites that provide an optimal viewing experience, whether it’s on a desktop, tablet, or smartphone. We implemented a responsive design to provide ease of use for our website visitors. It doesn’t matter what device customers use to view the site because it’s always easy and convenient to access.
5. Case Studies
We take pride in the ability to share customer success stories showing how Wasp solutions make their business more profitable and productive. With the website renovations, it was time to incorporate a refreshed way of sharing these stories. We created a new layout for
case study landing pages that make it easy for our potential customers to view the information. Additionally, embedded customer videos were included to make the pages more visually stimulating.
Here at Wasp, we are dedicated to providing the best possible experience for our customers. We want customers to easily find the best inventory, asset, or barcode solutions to make their businesses more productive and profitable. To do that, we focused on making our website completely customer-centered. We included updated content, product videos, customer videos, and case studies to make it easier for our customers and prospects to quickly find the information they need to take their business to the next level.
WaspBarcode.com is currently available to customers, prospects, and partners. The website will continue to evolve as content is constantly refreshed, customer feedback is implemented, and cross-platform integration is augmented. Please visit the new Wasp website, and let us know what you think.
